Citi Appoints Andrei Kazantsev as Global Head of FX Exotics Trading

Citi has appointed Andrei Kazantsev as Global Head of FX Exotics Trading, adding a senior derivatives specialist to its foreign exchange business as the bank continues to strengthen its global trading capabilities. Kazantsev is based in London and started the new role on September 1, 2026.

In his new position, Kazantsev will initially focus on correlation and G10 structured products, bringing extensive experience across FX options, structured products, and derivatives trading.

Kazantsev joins Citi after spending more than 15 years at Goldman Sachs, where he built a long career across foreign exchange and digital asset derivatives.

He originally joined Goldman Sachs in 2011 in a role covering G10 FX options trading and later progressed into increasingly senior positions within the firm’s trading business.

Kazantsev subsequently served as Global Head of Crypto Derivatives Trading, a role he held for around five years, before becoming Global Head of FX Flow Exotics and Structured Products.

His work also included involvement in Goldman Sachs’ digital assets activities, particularly around derivatives and institutional crypto markets.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, Kazantsev gained earlier career experience in fixed income at Credit Suisse, giving him a background across several areas of institutional markets before moving deeper into FX derivatives.

His experience across G10 options, exotics, structured products, and crypto derivatives gives Citi a senior trader with exposure to both traditional and emerging asset classes.

The appointment comes as major global banks continue to invest in their foreign exchange trading businesses and recruit experienced derivatives professionals. Recent industry hiring activity has included several senior FX appointments across Citi, HSBC, Goldman Sachs, and other major institutions.

Citi operates one of the world’s largest global banking and capital markets businesses, providing services across areas including banking, payments, wealth management, fixed income, and capital markets.

Kazantsev’s appointment adds significant derivatives experience to Citi’s FX operation and places him in a global leadership role focused on some of the more complex areas of foreign exchange trading.

As Global Head of FX Exotics Trading, Andrei Kazantsev will now play a key role in developing Citi’s exotics and structured products business while bringing more than 15 years of Goldman Sachs trading experience to the bank.
