Anchorage Digital Acquires Routable to Strengthen Global Payment Infrastructure

Anchorage Digital, a US-based institutional digital asset platform, has acquired enterprise payments provider Routable, expanding its capabilities across traditional financial transactions, stablecoin payments, and cross-border payment infrastructure.

The acquisition brings together Anchorage Digital's regulated digital asset services and Routable's global payout technology, enabling the development of more integrated financial solutions for businesses managing both traditional currencies and digital assets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2017, Routable specializes in helping businesses manage high-volume payments through automated workflows and developer-focused application programming interfaces (APIs). Its infrastructure supports payments across more than 220 countries and territories, allowing enterprises to onboard and verify recipients, automate tax and compliance procedures, and distribute funds to suppliers, contractors, creators, and other business partners.

Through the acquisition, Anchorage Digital aims to broaden its financial infrastructure offering beyond institutional digital asset custody, settlement, trading, and staking. By incorporating Routable's payment capabilities, the company intends to provide corporate clients with more comprehensive tools for managing conventional financial transactions alongside blockchain-based payments.

The integration is also expected to support businesses exploring stablecoins and tokenized deposits as part of their payment and treasury operations. Combining digital asset infrastructure with established payment networks could help enterprises reduce operational complexity and improve the coordination of international transactions.

Nathan McCauley, CEO and Co-Founder of Anchorage Digital, highlighted the strategic importance of connecting regulated digital asset services with the payment infrastructure required by major financial institutions and global enterprises.

Omri Mor, CEO and Co-Founder of Routable, emphasized the opportunity to expand the company's payment capabilities while providing customers with access to Anchorage Digital's regulated financial infrastructure.

Following the transaction, Routable will operate under the name Routable by Anchorage Digital. The companies will continue serving their existing customers while working toward introducing additional integrated services over the coming quarters.

The acquisition comes as financial institutions and technology companies increasingly explore the use of stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and blockchain-based settlement systems to modernize payment operations. These technologies are attracting attention for their potential to improve transaction efficiency, increase payment flexibility, and support international financial activity.

For Anchorage Digital, the addition of Routable represents a strategic expansion into enterprise payment distribution, allowing the company to address a broader range of corporate financial requirements while strengthening its position in the institutional digital asset market.

The transaction also reflects the growing convergence between traditional financial technology and digital asset services, as businesses seek integrated platforms capable of supporting multiple payment methods across international markets.
