Intuit Agrees to Acquire AI Revenue Management Startup Sequence

Intuit has announced an agreement to acquire Sequence, an artificial intelligence-powered revenue management platform, as part of its strategy to expand financial automation capabilities for growing businesses.

The acquisition, announced on October 15, 2026, is expected to strengthen Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced by introducing advanced tools for managing complex billing, pricing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.

Founded in 2021 and operating from London and New York, Sequence provides technology that automates the process from initial customer agreements through revenue collection. Its platform is particularly relevant to businesses using subscription-based, usage-based, and milestone-based pricing models.

Through the planned acquisition, Intuit aims to offer mid-sized companies a more integrated financial management system, reducing their reliance on spreadsheets and disconnected software applications.

Sequence's technology uses AI agents to automate financial workflows, allowing finance teams to manage revenue operations more efficiently while improving visibility into customer contracts and payments.

As part of the agreement, Sequence co-founder and CEO Riya Grover and her team are expected to join Intuit's mid-market product organization. Intuit plans to maintain support for existing Sequence customers and develop integrated offerings following completion of the transaction.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition has not yet closed.

The deal reflects Intuit's continued investment in artificial intelligence and its ambition to expand beyond traditional accounting software into comprehensive financial management solutions for businesses.
