Cross River Integrates Ripple’s RLUSD Stablecoin into Banking Infrastructure

Cross River Bank has announced an expansion of its partnership with blockchain technology company Ripple to integrate the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin into its banking infrastructure, strengthening its capabilities in digital payments and cross-border financial transactions.

The integration, announced on October 15, 2026, will connect RLUSD with Cross River's proprietary Core Operating System, allowing fintech companies to access stablecoin payment services through a single application programming interface.

The development supports transactions on the XRP Ledger, a public blockchain designed to facilitate fast and low-cost transfers of digital assets.

Through the partnership, Cross River aims to simplify the movement of funds between traditional US dollars and stablecoins, enabling businesses to access cross-border payments, treasury transfers, and settlement capabilities around the clock.

The integration also connects blockchain-based transactions with traditional payment systems, including ACH transfers, wire payments, and real-time payment networks.

Cross River said the new capabilities will reduce the need for fintech companies to maintain separate banking and blockchain infrastructures, potentially improving operational efficiency.

Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin is designed for institutional financial applications, including payments and settlement services.

The expanded partnership highlights growing cooperation between regulated banking institutions and blockchain companies seeking to integrate digital assets into established financial infrastructure.

Cross River indicated that the services are currently available only in a limited number of US states, with access subject to applicable restrictions.
