Tradeweb Markets has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Trumid, a U.S.-based electronic credit trading platform, in a transaction valued at approximately $1.97 billion, marking a significant expansion of its presence in the corporate bond market.
The transaction comprises $1.75 billion for Trumid's business operations and approximately $220 million in tax assets. Under the agreement, Tradeweb will pay around $1.89 billion in cash and $82 million in equity, subject to customary adjustments.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Tradeweb's capabilities across the corporate bond trading lifecycle, combining its established institutional network with Trumid's technology and relationships with hedge funds and systematic trading firms.
The integration would also expand Tradeweb's presence in new bond issuance and grey-market trading, supporting its strategy to improve liquidity access, pricing transparency and electronic execution.
Tradeweb expects the acquisition to contribute positively to adjusted earnings per share during the first full year following completion. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027.
The agreement highlights continued consolidation in financial market infrastructure as electronic trading platforms seek broader capabilities and greater market connectivity.
