Barclays, a leading British universal bank with over 325 years of history and operations in more than 40 countries, has announced the appointment of Hiroshi Minoura as Chairman of Investment Banking in Japan. This strategic appointment reinforces Barclays’ long-term commitment to growth and client engagement in the Japanese market.
In his new role, Minoura will provide strategic leadership to align Barclays’ investment banking business in Japan with global priorities. He will support cross-border transactions, expand client relationships, and drive complex strategic deals, further strengthening Barclays’ position as a key advisory partner in one of Asia’s most significant financial markets.
Minoura has been a Senior Advisor to Barclays’ investment banking operations in Japan since July 2024. He brings 47 years of industry experience, including senior leadership roles at BofA Securities Japan and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, where he held multiple executive positions both in Japan and internationally. His extensive experience will play a pivotal role in guiding Barclays’ investment banking activities and expanding its footprint across the region.
