Dr. Sarah Saeed Reyad: A Career Spanning Engineering, Project Management, and Academia

Over the course of 22 years of experience, Dr. Sarah Saeed Reyad has built a diverse professional and academic career across engineering and project management, combining fieldwork, academic teaching, project quality supervision, sports, and volunteer work.

Dr. Sara’s passion for engineering began at an early age and gradually developed into a professional journey built on research, study, and continuous practical experience, leading to extensive expertise in engineering projects and project management.

Throughout her professional career, Dr. Sara has worked across several engineering disciplines, including site engineering for concrete structures and finishing works, technical office roles for concrete and steel structures, concrete structural design, structural detailing for steel buildings, and quality control for steel structures.

She later moved into academia, working as an engineering lecturer specializing in project management for several engineering programs, including Civil, Architectural, Chemical, Medical, Communications, and Computer Engineering. Her academic experience also includes quality coordination for educational programs and internal academic reviews.

International Experience in Engineering Projects

Dr. Sara’s experience has extended internationally through supervising the quality of prefabricated steel structure projects manufactured in Egypt and later shipped and installed in Saudi Arabia, Spain, and several African countries.

Her project portfolio has included work in Angola, Nigeria, Tanzania, Somalia, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Libya, Algeria, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Zambia, Burkina Faso, Mozambique, Togo, and Uganda.

She has supervised the quality of a wide range of projects, including aircraft hangars, factories, universities, warehouses and storage facilities, retail stores, shopping malls, corporate buildings, and other facilities.

Academic and Research Career

Dr. Sara holds a bachelor’s degree, as well as master’s and doctoral degrees. She has also completed numerous professional and academic training courses and has participated in conferences, seminars, and workshops.

She has published a number of scientific research papers internationally and has taught at several Egyptian governmental institutes and universities. She has also discussed and supervised student graduation projects in project management, in addition to supervising master’s theses.

Her experience in project management has provided her with extensive knowledge in several areas, including selecting the most suitable projects for implementation, feasibility studies, choosing tender and contract types, and drafting project contracts, particularly international contracts involving multinational consortiums.

Her expertise also includes preparing project work plans, site planning, work breakdown structures, activity planning, time calculations, production rates, resource productivity, quantity surveying, time management, scheduling, and cost planning.

She has also worked on project resource allocation and leveling, cash flow preparation through costing and pricing calculations, project monitoring and control, tracking actual progress rates, risk and constraint management, quality control, project time compression, and value engineering.

Her experience further includes understanding different organizational and corporate structures, identifying suitable resources and projects based on organizational needs, supporting decision-making, and keeping pace with technological developments and scientific progress in the age of artificial intelligence.

Transferring Knowledge to Future Generations

Dr. Sara’s contribution has not been limited to engineering and academia. She has also focused on transferring her professional, academic, and life experience to her students.

Her teaching has included humanities, verbal and written communication skills, and body language, with the aim of preparing students for the labor market.

She has also addressed topics such as CV writing, effective job interview techniques, presenting engineering projects and technical work to audiences and institutions, individual and team-based project work, technical report writing, and business management.

Sports as Part of Her Journey

Alongside her scientific and professional career, Dr. Sara has maintained a strong interest in sports from an early age.

She has practiced karate, swimming, basketball, tennis, cycling, and running.

In 2025, she was honored by the Egyptian Minister of Youth for her sporting achievements. She has also participated in numerous sporting, charitable, awareness-focused, and diplomatic running events, earning several advanced positions, medals, and awards.

Dr. Sara promotes a message centered on the integration of education and sports as a path toward building a healthy and sustainable society.

Commitment to Volunteer Work

Volunteer work has also played an important role in Dr. Sara’s journey.

She volunteered with the Egyptian Red Crescent from an early age and participated in leadership development and youth capacity-building programs.

She is also a graduate of a program by Egypt’s Ministry of Manpower and Migration aimed at preparing young people for the labor market.
