Bloomsbury Money Group has appointed Thomas Holst as Chief Technology Officer, bringing in a technology executive with more than a decade of experience building data-intensive and privacy-sensitive platforms within SAP’s health-technology ecosystem.
In his new role, Holst will lead the group’s technology strategy, engineering and platform architecture as Bloomsbury Money develops infrastructure intended to support its operations across multiple markets and regulatory environments.
The appointment comes as the group works to bring its existing services—including multi-currency accounts, foreign exchange, cross-border payments and regulated virtual-asset services—onto a more unified technology platform. The company says its longer-term objective is to connect fiat currencies, regulated digital assets and local payment rails within the same network.
Holst joins from SAP’s health-technology ecosystem in Germany, where his work involved software and cloud infrastructure supporting hospitals, researchers and health-data applications. His background centres on systems where privacy, data integrity and auditability are critical requirements.
Bloomsbury Money currently operates through Jersey and London. Its Jersey entity is registered as a Money Service Business and Virtual Asset Service Provider, while the company’s official disclosures state clearly that Bloomsbury Money Jersey Limited is not a bank.
The hire places technology infrastructure at the centre of Bloomsbury Money’s plans as it seeks to expand its cross-border financial-services network into additional jurisdictions.
