Adyen has nominated Niclas Neglen, currently Chief Financial Officer at Klarna, as its next CFO, with the appointment expected to take effect on February 1, 2027, subject to regulatory and shareholder approval.
Neglen will also join Adyen’s statutory management board. He has served as Klarna’s CFO since 2021 and previously held senior finance roles at HSBC Private Bank, including CFO and COO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. His career also includes 13 years at General Electric in senior financial leadership positions.
He will succeed interim CFO Hwa Tsao, who took responsibility for Adyen’s financial strategy in August following Ethan Tandowsky’s departure to ElevenLabs. Once Neglen assumes the role permanently, Tsao is expected to return to overseeing finance operations as Senior Vice President of Group Finance.
The appointment comes amid a series of leadership changes at Adyen. The company recently promoted Nicole Olbe, previously Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, to President for EMEA.
Neglen’s move from Klarna to Adyen brings an experienced fintech finance executive into one of Europe’s leading payments technology companies as Adyen continues to strengthen its senior leadership team.
