HF Sinclair Appoints Steve Ledbetter CEO as Energy Group Prepares for Strategic Transition

US energy company HF Sinclair has appointed Steve Ledbetter as its next Chief Executive Officer and President, effective January 1, 2027, as the company prepares for a leadership transition alongside broader strategic changes.

Ledbetter, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, will succeed Franklin Myers, who will continue in his executive position until the transition takes effect.

Following the leadership change, Myers is expected to serve as Executive Chairperson, providing continuity as HF Sinclair advances its previously announced plans to separate its Lubricants & Specialties segment.

Ledbetter brings more than 25 years of experience across the energy and transportation industries. He joined HF Sinclair in 2023 after holding senior leadership positions at Shell Midstream Partners, where he gained experience in energy infrastructure and operational management.

The company also plans to expand its Board of Directors and appoint Ledbetter as a director at a later date, further integrating the incoming CEO into its corporate governance structure.

The transition comes as HF Sinclair evaluates opportunities to optimize its business portfolio and strengthen operational efficiency across its refining, logistics and energy-related activities.

The planned separation of its Lubricants & Specialties business represents a significant element of the company's strategic direction, potentially allowing greater focus on its core operations while creating a more streamlined organizational structure.

Ledbetter's appointment positions him to oversee the next phase of HF Sinclair's development as the company navigates evolving energy market conditions and executes its long-term business priorities.
