Capital.com Appoints John Austin as Chief Strategy Officer

London-based retail FX and CFDs broker, Capital.com, has announced the appointment of industry veteran John Austin as its Chief Strategy Officer. This move marks the first major executive hire under the leadership of new CEO Kypros Zoumidou, who took over from Peter Hetherington in October.

In his role as Chief Strategy Officer, John Austin will be based in London and will be responsible for implementing strategic direction, fostering innovation, and driving initiatives that contribute to Capital.com's growth trajectory.

With over two decades of experience in the derivatives trading and brokerage space, John brings a wealth of expertise to his new position. He previously served as a senior executive at IG Group, where he held group-wide responsibility for dealing, online marketing, and data science. During his tenure, he led strategic initiatives such as the development of Nadex, a US derivatives exchange, and Spectrum, a Frankfurt-based MTF. More recently, John served as the Chief Strategy Officer at LMAX Group, where he worked on strategic initiatives in the FX brokerage and crypto exchange space.

John's extensive background also includes a period in investment banking, where he played a role in designing and executing large-scale structured transactions for Barclays Capital. In addition to his corporate roles, he served on the Advisory Board of Coinrule, a fintech startup.

With the appointment of John Austin as Chief Strategy Officer, Capital.com aims to leverage his experience and expertise to drive the company's strategic direction, foster innovation, and contribute to its continued growth in the competitive retail FX and CFDs market.
